Thanks for stopping by! My name is Amanda and I am a full-time graphic designer by day and artist/calligrapher by nights and weekends working and living in Chicago. I have a Bachelor’s in Industrial Design (product design) from the University of Illinois, but my passion covers all aspects of art, design, & calligraphy.

Although art & design has been a huge part of my life since the day I could hold a pencil, XO Art & Design was officially born in the summer of 2017 when I opened my Etsy shop and started taking client projects more seriously. My business has changed a lot since then (it still is) but I am so thankful for all of the support I get from family, friends, and especially clients! One of the most recent changes to this little business of mine was implemented in the fall of 2019, when I began teaching calligraphy classes through Sip & Script. I have been so lucky to be able to work with absolutely amazing clients, companies and vendors over the years, and have absolutely fallen in love with teaching as well.

My (very minimal) free time is spent frolicking around the city with my boyfriend Trevor (click here to buy his book!), going out with my gal pals, cuddling with my cats Madison, Luna, and Siren (hi, yes, total cat mom - and yes I like dogs too), and sipping red wine while binging HGTV home improvement shows or The Office for the 92756th time.

If you’re wondering where the XO comes from, it actually has a couple meanings to me! The first being that my best friend and I got XO tattoos on our feet after college (so original, I know lol, but I absolutely love it). The second reason XO is close to my heart is because I was lucky enough to be a part of Chi Omega in college, and XO is a spinoff of the greek letters! Lastly, I chose XO because it is a symbol of love and passion, which is what I put into each and every order. I pour my heart into this business and it is honestly my dream come true!
